Never trust FedEx. Still no laptop. Going on day four of my two-day shipping -- coincidentally enough, 48 collective hours of which, by tomorrow, will have been spent sitting in warehouses, immobile. There is a lesson to be learned there. If you are supposed to be somewhere within 48 hours, and you spend 48 hours not going anywhere, you will be late.

It is very difficult to feel attached to things (writing, maintaining, emailing, job-searching) when you are not on your own computer. Still, that is not to say that these things are not necessary, and you should do them.

You know that your sister is raring for a fight when you say to her over dinner "I'd like to talk to you about that later" and she folds her arms over her chest defensively and demands "Why talk about it later? Let's talk about it NOW" even though your mouth is full of pork-chops. You also know, when she later comes back into the house having bought you the slippers you needed to walk around the wood-encrusted floors of your house, and she tells you that you don't need to pay right away it's fine, that she is sorry.

If you can clearly see the sheetrock above your head outlined in moisture, because the driving rain is seeping through the ceiling in rivers and thus violating the structural integrity of your already unstable and torn-apart house, it's time to call the contractors, and stand somewhere else, preferably in a different zipcode. We still don't know if the house collapsed, because my sister and I fled to a different zipcode, but we do know that's going to be at least another week's worth of construction.

When your website is hacked, and you are hosted by morons who do not keep backups, and you have 20+ days left before you return to the computer where your own backups are stored, it really sucks. Therefore, ICDsoft is clearly the superior host, because the last time this happened to you, the tech support ninjas restored your entire website within a half-hour.

Some people are awesome.
