In the continuing chronicles of Macs not being the superior computer race everyone swears up and down they are (wherein the first episode was fun with keyboard templates, the second was the pure venom that is their preinstalled demo software, and the third was critical lockup resulting in compudeath and the loss of a beautiful story *sniffle*)...

I installed Firefox on this computer. It insists on downloading the package to the desktop, which then after installation becomes cluttered with two random icons that I want to go away. I delete the one that I downloaded from the website, the package.

For the third day in a row, I have had to reinstall Firefox upon arriving. Deleting the ZIP FILE in which Firefox came should NOT DELETE THE PROGRAM. This "helpful" drag-it-to-the-trash-and-it-uninstalls feature is driving me crazy.

My bosses want me to order two iMac G5s, the 20" with iSight included, but these are brand new and very shiny and so sought-after the Apple store near us has given up on waiting lists. I am responsible for calling them every day to nag them if they have any we can pick up or if they can call us when some get in.

You know you are a successful nag when despite all their policies, you call them and repeat your request and they go, "You wouldn't happen to be from the B F Skinner Foundation, would you? Yeah, I have on my PowerBook that we should call you the moment we get the 20" in stock."
