Glee: The Gwyneth Paltrow episode
Nov. 19th, 2010 12:46 pmThis is like, a week late, but I have commentary on this week's Glee episode! I'm disappointed there was so much Will, I was promised an episode where someone else took over for him and instead he was constantly up to his eyeballs in plot. :( Boo.
I have mixed feelings about the Umbrella/Singing in the Rain mashup. On the one hand, it was amazing and I downloaded it because I liked it that much. On the other hand, I thought, "This one incredibly orchestrated synthesized and decorated set number is probably a glee club's entire budget for like -- four years. This is why the Warblers just sang a damn a capella number on their lunch break, you guys. They're still going to have money when sectionals comes around."
It was a little too over-the-top for my suspension of disbelief. I mean, five minutes of constant rain machine antics! And I mean, obviously choreographed and rehearsed-- And the rocket launchers in the All That Jazz number--
Yeah, okay.
Anyway, music was good this episode. The "A" plot was iffy, as usual, but I was happy.
