So hatefully busy. But don't worry, I'm writing that Luke/Natalia fic~
I bought passes to Penny Arcade Expo. I hesitated, but I was full of resentment for my lame job and when I saw that the first day of PAX this year is my birthday, I said, this is a sign. Screw work.
Is anyone else going to PAX?

The flyswatter crashes into the little golem and slams it into the wall; it reels dizzily in the air for a moment, and then it turns back on the irritable housewife who swatted it and it opens a mouth full of teeth to bite back.

Lavi was no more him than any of the other names were him, and now that he is Bookman he needs none of them... but still, whenever he is called to the Exorcist's headquarters on business and sad, pale blue eyes find him across a room, there is a pang in the place where there should have been a heart, and he regrets a little more that Lavi had to die.

The nameless man searches every room in the house for his apprentice, irritated by this blatant disobedience; he finally finds the girl hanging from the window with a bedsheet tied around her neck like a makeshift noose. Well, that explains that.
With a sigh, he cuts her loose, and goes to get ready to go to the battlefield himself, ignoring the screams of townspeople below as the body crashes down into their midst.
He loses more apprentices that way. He really needs to look into a sturdier sort of youth.

The day he returned to Daath he broke every mirror and smashed every reflective surface in his room, and made Arietta cry, but it still couldn't banish the image of the replica from his mind -- spoiled, smug, and blissfully ignorant, the way Asch couldn't even want to be anymore.

He muttered furiously under his breath, dusting the lamp so hard that he knocked it over, forcing him to lunge to catch it before it shattered; Watanuki knelt on the floor and he swore, swore, that if that infuriating bastard ever kissed him again he would -- he would -- he didn't know what he'd do.

Natalia thought that she would melt when Asch spoke the words of their promise -- his proposal -- but when Luke echoed his words, so soft and so earnest and looking her right in the eye as if he knew exactly what they meant to her... that was the first time her treacherous heart skipped a beat.

Zuko knows he'll never be as good as she is, never as smart or as powerful or as confident, and even when he slams her back and pins her roughly to the stone wall he can't help feeling like Azula is utterly in control -- the little smirk on her face making her seem miles above him, untouchable.

He dreamed that he was drowning, pulled down by eager clutching hands that long for his blood, terrified as the water flooded his lungs and the thought flooded his mind, This time he won't come and no one can save me; when Doumeki woke with a start, his fingers tightened in the sheets and he hated thinking that across town, Watanuki was waking up from his dream (and it was his dream) and he was shaking, afraid, and alone.
Axel/Roxas
His Somebody loved curry, and for some inexplicable fucking reason he loves it too, l-o-v-e loves it and the way it burns into his tongue, and there is no one with the ability to change that rare preference in his dead life, but for some inexplicable fucking reason he can't help being anxious, fidgeting beneath the table and hoping against hope that Roxas likes it too.

"You're pretty brave when it's just you and the mirror," Xigbar observed from the ceiling, most of his observation nearly drowned out by Demyx's yelp. "Hey," the older Nobody added cheerfully, "that was a pretty good jump. I'd almost think you were the one who didn't care for gravity."
Demyx gave him a dirty look -- as best as he could manage from where he hid behind the mirror.
Rangiku/Kira
She was loudly approving of the nikuman that he made but Izuru didn't need visual cues to know that she would rather have had the dried persimmons that he hated, just as there was someone else she would rather have eaten them with.
Isane/Hanatarou
They're both talking, over each other, and she reaches for the bandages and he struggles upright to reach for the bandages and their heads collide and Hanatarou slumps back to the bed and Isane wails something apologetic and checks his head for injuries and Kiyone covers her damn ears and slips out of the tent, because even she isn't as bad as Isane when she gets nervous around a man.
Ty Lee
Strangely, the only reports of one of the Princess Azula's trusted aides after the Fire Nation's fall are the hearsay of merchants, who gossip about a young girl heading alone down the Great Northern Highway, who does not travel by foot or by mount, but who does cartwheels and flips and walks on her hands as she goes.
Zuko/Katara
She calls him selfish for wasting their money on chocolate, which doesn't even make sense because he bought it for everyone to share, but the others are louder in their approval; he melts it down and mixes it with milk; and despite her protests, he catches a glimpse of her off to the side, nursing the mug between her hands and smiling down at it softly the way she never looks at him.

"I'm a soldier, too," Roxas protests, "but I can't help thinking these would be kind of awkward in a fight," and he makes a gesture curving around his chest that makes the girl flush and fold her arms over the part in question.

The added complication of paparazzi in his life is definitely something Sander could've done without, but he supposes he can forgive little inconveniences like that when they lie on the couch watching the news, Franklin's back to the arm and Sander's back to his chest, and Franklin produces a rose from somewhere and brushes it over his jaw as if he walked right out of one of his own movies.

Zack/Aerith
Sometimes, looking back, she felt guilty for having spent her time on lovestruck whimsy when everyone else fought so hard to save Midgar from its downward spiral; but Zack had told her (so much louder than Cid's calls that they had to go, go, now!), "You filled my life with light," and she cherished that she had been able to make his last days happy ones.
Ichigo
Chad and Orihime are both shocked to see the grade on his exam (Rukia less so, but then, Rukia fails so hard at standardized tests that it's a wonder they haven't expelled her just to maintain their overall grades) but Ichigo can only shrug; he has better things to do in his free time now than study.
House/Wilson
House cheats at sex just like he cheats at everything else; when he wants Wilson on his back, it's a simple matter of just sticking the cane behind his ankle and waiting.

She doesn't know what to think, because if Hitsugaya-kun comes back alive then Captain Aizen may be dead, but the alternative is Hitsugaya-kun doesn't come back alive and she doesn't think she could bear it if that happened; so she sits by the window, and she watches the road, and she waits.
