Updates! The manga, game, and movie invasion

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Pretty much everything I'd hoped it would be, and then some, since fortunately I wasn't asking for plot twists or subtlety or anything. It can stay.

Bleach 317

That color spread is gorgeous. Ichigo and Rukia's reunion was adorable. I fangirl Orihime more with just about every passing chapter.

DGM 166

I so didn't even realize that was Allen until I read it again, I are inattentive. Also, Mana, whaaat. Goddamn the art in this series is gorgeous.

Odin Sphere

Finished playing through Gwendolyn's story, started on Cornelius's. The pooka are so cute aaaah. Oswald/Gwendolyn can stay. I kind of want to drabble for them, but I guess I should play Oswald's story before I write anything involving him. Myrissss This game gets really hard -- I die on every boss, mini-boss, and some random battles -- but since death is totally painless, it was less a matter of difficulty and more a matter of patience.

Odin Sphere! Yeah, you should wait to write Oswald/Gwendolyn until you've played Oswald's chapter. For me, it changed their dynamic entirely (in a good way; I didn't like Oswald/Gwendolyn until then). Are you playing on Easy mode? I found some battles impossible to win without switching to Easy mode, if only because the lag wasn't quite so awful. Also, learning how to use potions is really important for survival. I figured that out way late in the game.

I didn't know you could switch to easy mode at will. But holy crap I'm totally going to do that on some boards. XD Are there any, like, you know, consequences? Does it matter how you go through the game?

Interesting about Oswald and Gwendolyn; I know that there's a sort of shady aspect to their relationship, in the way they've both been emotionally crippled and cling to each other desperately (I'm totally comfortable assuming he is, what with the being-sold-to-the-queen-of-the-dead-by-his-family thing) as well as the questionable circumstances of their relationship (the whole making a bargain in exchange for marrying her thing, the spell that makes her love him). But I like those things; they present an interesting angle on her character development and make it ripe for introspection. *fails*

Anyway, if Oswald's chapter presents a different view of their relationship, I'll definitely wait, because I really want to see how he and Odin struck that bargain. Also lol Onyx.

The main consequence of switching to Easy Mode is Not Dying. Other than that, everything's the same, and you can still unlock the secret ending if you're masochistic enough. (I thought I was, but as it turns out, I'm not. Protip: never send Mercedes up against the world dragon. The flying doesn't help.)

You find out more about Oswald and Gwendolyn's first meeting and some interesting details about the bargain and Odin's family during Oswald's chapter. It doesn't really change it that much, it just adds a different perspective to it.

Also, there is much more lol Onyx. lol Onyx indeed. This makes me want to go and fix my shirtless Onyx icon, just so I can use it.

But it still doesn't compare to lol Ingway, whom you will be meeting very soon.
