Whyyyyy?

I am Princess Meredith, heir to a throne--if I can stay alive long enough to claim it. My cousin, Prince Cel, is determined to see that I don't. As long as we both live, we are in a race for the crown: Whichever one of us reproduces first gets the throne. So now the men of my royal guard--frightening warriors skilled with blade, spell, and gun--have become my lovers, auditioning with pleasure for the role of future king and father of my child. And they must still protect me from assassination attempts--for unlike most of the fey, I am part human, and very mortal. All this royal back-stabbing makes it very difficult for me to pursue my living as a private investigator in Los Angeles [...]

This is a summary. From a book.

An actual book.

its kind of uplifting isn't it? :D Now we all know we can all be PUBLISHED authors too!

Unless the author of that book is fi;lthy rich and happens to be the publisher as well?

Yeah, we can ALL be published authors, including sixth-graders. If they're this desperate for material, it's a miracle our computers haven't been raided and all our writing stolen already, unfinished or half-assed or unspellchecked regardless. XD

This seriously drives me to invoke the 451 protocol and purge this from the world with flame.

One of these days you've gotta tell me where I can find some *good* fantasy.

Mark Anthony, "The Last Rune" series. But be warned: it's entirely possible that these books are not as good as I think they are, because I'm apparently biased. Mark Anthony is one of my headtwins, or so I assume, because he PSYCHICALLY PREDICTS everything I want to have happen to the characters, even random half-assed things, and then makes them happen.

I would give you examples, but I don't know how you feel about spoilers. ^^

Does that mean we're head triplets? XD

I'll take your word on the quality. Thank you!

I keep thinking, any two elements -- maybe any THREE elements -- of that story would be okay independently. Last surviving fairy princess? Okay, sure. Surrounded by big handsome hulking warriors whose only duties are to protect her and, er, win her affection via physical means? Okay, I can go with that. Private investigator living in L.A. and looking into a Big Evil Power? Fine.

But the last surviving fairy princess, with her harem of ninja guardian pleasure-slaves, living in L.A. and working as a detective who has to save the world?

That is just physical pain, I'm sorry. ^^;;;;

That hurts my brain. At least Aya looks good compared to this. ^^;

the shocked kitty is entirely to happy for something like this. It looks like it's happy that there is a published Mary Sue out there. Good God, where are the Nazis when you NEED them to burn books?

*snickers* I know which book that is *snickers* Gives me the motivation to write better then it...but just because I actually own a book by that author I have to say that said author got worse as the books kept coming. The debut was really good in my opinion and has nothing to do with said last surviving fae or author's other arc. ^^ There done my duty as the person who reads too much...but yes, I laugh at that summary, very heartily.

It's scary that you can recognize the book! ^_~ But you know what -- I've read things by this author also. I don't remember being overly IMPRESSED or anything, but I thought I would've remembered something of this degree of horror~ XD
