Spent two hours wrestling with my taxes, gave up. I'll have to go to H&R Block next weekend and pay them to take this mess off my hands. Also spent some time looking at apartments/houses?? but it was not fruitful.

Meanwhile, I have been having the random want to replace all my icons with The World Ends With You character poses. Like, FUCK YOU, YURI AND SIF AND DINOSAUR ICONS. I NEED TWENTY ICONS OF SHIKI MAKING FLIPPY HAND GESTURES.

Another security log. They were experimenting on the other children to determine whether or not treatments would be safe to use on Subject Zero. Jack is further infuriated by the universe's refusal to go along with her worldview.

And another, revealing that they started up somewhere else, on the Alliance's Ascension program. Shepard says that's a school for biotics -- they don't torture children there.

Jack admits that this is different than how she remembers it.

I do have some sympathy for Jack here, because -- you know -- she has spent like a decade now rationalizing away her survivor's guilt by telling herself it's a ruthless world and it was either kill or be killed. Now suddenly it turns out that Jack may have been protected, sheltered, and kept safe. That her survival is not a matter of strength or even luck, but because the very same people she hates chose her to survive.

Bonus: If Jack was really so untouchable, that means she murdered other children for no reason. She didn't "have no other choice". It wasn't "kill or be killed".

Exactly. Jack's spent a lot of time building up the idea that everyone was out to get her and literally built her personality off it. She went through the worst and came out stronger. If other people were sacrificed for her, if she was nurtured and other kids really did have it worse, then her whole worldview is built off lies.

And, yeah. She just murdered those other kids who were dying for her to begin with.
