Happy new year to one and all!
2014 is going to be great. I know it. I am rooting for all of you and wishing everyone the best and going to make it as best I can.
I'm on a better track career-wise and I'm about to get full benefits working for a company that's doing well. I find that I'm still slipping into depression habits periodically -- not because I'm sad or because anything is going wrong, but because the uselessness just burns itself into your brain. So sometimes it's all I can do to get off the couch before I have to head to work.
I don't want to overtask myself and set impossible goals that I'll feel bad about failing in immediately, so I have two resolutions for 2014...
1. Keep track of my finances.
Knowing objectively that I'm making money isn't good enough. I can't keep being in this place where I'm too lazy to manage my money. I've been a pain in the ass about this for too long. I already have a Google form set up to track my spending, and I will start using it to keep track of my purchases and profits in January.
2. Focus on health.
This is kind of a broad goal, but my current priority is to resume my intermittent fasting. I lost good weight using that method and I don't want to lose all my work. I'm going to fast M/W/F and I'll eat normally the rest of the time, but I will also track my intake. I've returned to the point where I keep feeling hungry and putting food while at work, and writing down what I'm eating will make it more real and help me figure out what this habit is doing to me.
I also bought a pair of ankle weights to wear around, see if that helps count as tiny exercise, and I would like to focus more on my didgeridoo playing (I am otherwise going to die in my sleep) but... small steps.
