Shut up.

I don't think people livestream Nintendo 3DS without equipment and expensive/obnoxious jury rigging, so, screw that, even if I wanted to. I will update this post throughout playing on my commentary etc.

Corrin admires Subaki's training routine, but while he is busy being perfect and offering to train her, his stomach growls. Immediately overcome with mortification, he escapes and starts eating non-stop for days so that his stomach never growls again. Corrin gently talks him off the ledge. But he's still worried about it, so Corrin offers to stick it out with him and help him think up a different way to avoid his stomach growling. He's not used to people offering to help him because of all his pretending to be perfect, so it cheers him up to have someone to turn to. Nice. 2/5

For the S support, they have resolved his stomach growling issue because he can mute the sound by flexing his abs. *head in hands* Anyway, he has come down with The Feelings because there's finally someone he doesn't have to hide his weaknesses around, and she also likes him, so, hooray. Support: Perfectly stupid.

Subaki is terrified of Felicia because her failure might impact his perfection, and she does in fact start crying and throw wet sheets at him and cause him to trip and fall. Because he made her miserable but is still scared of being infected with her bad luck, Subaki hides and tries to help Felicia from the sidelines, but she finds him and demands his help with dinner in payment for his general jerkitude. It is a perfect dinner, because Subaki makes it, but he is also battered by Felicia's bad luck, so he's happy she's happy but stay the fuck away from him. 1/5

Then, because we need an S scene, they have actually been spending lots of time together instead of the ending to the A scene where he clearly never wants to have anything to do with her again. But that is unacceptable because OF ALL THESE FEELINGS THAT HE JUST REALIZED HE HAS. Support: Perfectly generic.

Rinkah approaches Subaki to talk to him about his reckless behavior in combat, and Subaki brushes it off, assuring her that he is too perfect to make stupid mistakes in battle. She stomps off angrily, and he later hunts her down to apologize for being a dick about her concern, but in apologizing he brings up her quick temper and she stomps off again. Perfect foot in the mouth, boy. They meet again for a mutual apology session. She concedes that she is temperamental and he concedes that he reacted poorly to criticism. They agree to call it even. Bye. 2/5

In the S support, Subaki pronounces his love, and explains that the reason he keeps saying stupid shit to her is because he wants her to think he's perfect because he likes her so much. Rinkah admits that she has been into Subaki from the very beginning. Yawn. Subaki brings up marriage and Rinkah says, reasonably, that it's goddamn nonsense to get married so fast, she just LIKES you. Support: Perfect mediocrity.

Sakura frets over Subaki pretending to be perfect and tells him that she knows how hard he works to make things look effortless and he doesn't have to pretend with her. He hates that, but humanity keeps catching up with him. Sakura keeps telling him that a small mistake isn't a big deal, like that time when she first met him and he fell off his pegasus!! Subaki doesn't take that well. He was RAISED to be perfect because his family has a long tradition of serving the crown, and a mistake would embarrass them all in front of the royal family. If he makes a mistake as Sakura's retainer, it reflects poorly on her. He swore he'd never let her down, but she insists that she chose him because he's brave and strong and a hard worker, not because he's perfect or because she felt bad for him NOT being perfect. He is honored by her acceptance. 4/5

Subaki is so honored that he decides to renew his vow to serve her in the S scene! Sakura has upended his belief that perfection is the only way to make people happy, and made him realize that it can be nice to have someone accept you not being perfect. Sakura accepts his vow, but wants him to see her as a woman. They both admit to having contracted Feelings, even though he thought it could never be. Support: Perfectly cute.

Azura is attacked! Subaki happened to be nearby and fights them off, but he is very disturbed that the security was lax enough to allow enemies close enough to almost kidnap a royal. He ends up fighting off another group of enemies, but this time one of them is wearing an identifying mark that indicates they're Hoshidans, and Subaki is horrified by the insinuation that someone in Hoshido wants to kill Azura. She is unfazed. Subaki goes on a personal crusade to take care of her attackers, but it doesn't make Azura feel better. People have been cruel to her all her life, in both Hoshido and Nohr, and she worries that maybe they always will be. But Subaki swears to protect her from anyone who wishes her harm, as he is so perfect that he can take care of both Azura and Sakura. Azura thinks that's adorable. 5/5

Subaki and Azura both want to talk to each other in the S scene. She wants to tell him that his duty should be to Sakura first and he has to stop worrying over her. He wants to tell her that he admires her strength and kindness in the face of hardship so much that he's in love with her. Azura confesses that she's been crushing on him ever since he saved her. Aww! Support: Perfectly sweet.

So Hana and Subaki are bickering about how perfect he isn't. She's fed up of everyone thinking he's perfect when he's SO NOT. They agree to a competition to see who is more worthy of being Sakura's retainer. But Subaki has been studying Hana and analyzing her technique and is able to defeat her at swordplay, to her shock. Then she defeats him at horsemanship, to HIS shock, because she realizes that none of this matters as long as they can both protect Sakura. They agree work together more amiably, although Hana will never stop bringing up that time he fell off his pegasus. 3/5

To S this up, Subaki has realized that the reason the whole competition started is because he just can't get over embarrassing himself in front of Hana with that damn pegasus thing. BECAUSE HE CARES ABOUT YOU, HANA. AND SHE CARES ABOUT YOU, SUBAKI! Hooray. Support: Perfectly eyerolly.

Orochi has hunted Subaki down to warn him that his future is about to suck, because he will be visited with COUNTLESS minor misfortunes. This is basically the worst possible fate for Mr. Perfection! So Orochi urges him to stop being such a perfectionist, but Subaki decides that instead he will just be extra, SUPER vigilant. This turns out to be working out for him, to Orochi's displeasure, but she somehow manages to dump a gross potion she's been brewing on him. She finds it hilarious but insists that she did him a favor by cleaning all the impending misfortune off his slate. He reluctantly thanks her! 3/5

In a weird turn, our S scene begins with Subaki wanting to learn divination. He wonders if he could help more people if he knew how to do it, but she says it doesn't work that way. Also, no one has time to read every individual's future. She only did it for Subaki because she's constantly reading his future, because she likes him. OH. Well. He likes you too??? Support: Perfectly odd.

Subaki and Hinoka chat casually about back when he was training her to be a pegasus knight! That's cute.

HINOKA: You told me that it wasn't about trying to control the pegasus. It was about bonding with the creature. That totally altered my perspective. You also helped open my eyes to the intricate beauty of nature. The rustle of leaves and sounds of chirping birds makes me think of you, even still.

Wow, that's shippier than I'm accustomed to from a C-rank support. They reminisce another time about searching for Sakura in a storm, when Subaki wanted to pull back and wait out the storm but Hinoka blew up and did her own thing and went out into a storm her pegasus couldn't fly in. Is this the same incident where she crash-landed her pegasus and met Azama? Anyway, Subaki found both her and Sakura. They really depend on him! Subaki tells her about how the new recruits he's training really look up to her, and she returns the compliment, and they both chuckle about how awkward it is to be so admired. lol! Excellent leaders. 5/5

The S support starts with Subaki seeking out Hinoka and asking her help about... the feelings he has for someone. She is startled that he needs advice when it's not like she has much experience with love. He presses: No fiances? No boyfriends? Maybe you would consider seeing him? He wants them to lead together and she admits that she didn't want to make things complicated with Sakura's retainer but she wants that too. Cute. Perfectly perfect people in perfect love.

To Subaki's distaste, he and Setsuna are both assigned to help train new recruits. Even though Subaki attempts to give her a bare minimum of responsibilities, she still is a bad example for their trainees because of her distraction and whimsy. There is no correcting her, but she starts feeling bad about always drifting off to pick herbs and stuff. Subaki says some recruits admire her because she's observant, though. They agree to continue working together. 2/5

Now, we S. One of the recruits told Setsuna that she and Subaki make a good team, and also look good together. She's been dwelling on it, and realized she likes him. She tries to drift off after saying so, but he has to stop her because OF COURSE he has to tell her that OF COURSE he likes her too, so yay. Perfectly silly.

Subaki finds Oboro looking after someone's store. She's great at patter and salesmanship and dealing with customers. He's impressed! She explains that she's helping the owner while he's sick. Subaki offers to cover for her, but the owner's illness is prolonged, and he encourages her to see it through if that's what she wants. When she finally returns to camp, Oboro wants to know why he hid her side hustle when Mr. Perfection is so anti-rule-breaking. Subaki says that she was just enjoying herself so much and she has such a talent for the work that he just really wanted to help her. Awww, Subaki. 4/5

In the S-rank scene, Oboro goes to thank him again. She's SO grateful that she's fallen in love with him. And he's been attracted to her since he saw her working in her element at the store. He says that he wants to support her dream of opening her own clothing store. Hooray for supportive partners. Support: Perfectly nice.

Kagero wants Mr. Perfect to teach her about art, which puzzles him because it's not exactly his forte, and also because she is asking him in a pretty suspicious way. She wants the request to remain a secret, and she brings some of her art to explain why. Subaki quickly grasps that she seems to have an issue with NOT producing nightmarescapes. But he says that he doesn't think it's wrong. If that's something that's part of who she is, then that's okay. After a bit of research, he thinks she might be an artistic genius. A disturbed genius, but a genius. She's pleased to be praised by a perfect person, and he asks to see her future works. Yay? 3/5

The S scene takes a wild swing at Subaki just going I ADORE YOU, WE SHOULD DATE. Because she has natural talent, unlike him? And she's modest and kind and stuff. And she loves him, apparently, although the dialogue just takes that for granted, she doesn't actually announce it. Support: Perfectly bizarre.

Subaki offers to help Mozu figure stuff out. Soldiers come to him for medical advice, and he offers some generously, but Mozu has a better way. He's surprised and promises to run after the soldier and give him her solution instead. He does some reading and is intrigued by this "home remedy" and "everyday knowledge" she speaks about. He is interested in all the things she knows how to do, and tells everyone how awesome she is. It's something of an inconvenience once people start coming to her for advice all the time, but she appreciates that he's not competitive or jealous the way she assumed he'd be because of his perfect reputation. 4/5

Now for S. Mozu shyly approaches Subaki and tells him that she likes him. And he says, quote, "Umm, th-thank you. That's very kind." Does he not know that this is an S-rank support...?! Is he going to friendzone her. She tells him about how much she admires him, even though she knows he could never love a country girl like herself, but they've had so many great conversations she just wanted to tell him. Subaki tells her that he can't stand hearing her talk about herself that way, and tells her that he likes her too. Perfectly... lukewarm...
