There has to be a name for this sort of complex

I am the biggest loser in the world, but I really like sharing things I love with people whose opinions I respect, and seeing them enjoy something that I love, and their reactions to it. It's not enough to just hand something over and be like, let me know what you think. More than once I have sat on my end of AIM while people on the other side of the country were watching anime and typed their reactions as they watch the episode, and I've never told them but I always secretly loved that. It makes me feel like we're really sharing something.

I don't think anyone really understands how important it is to me.

You aren't the only one. That actually sounds just like me XD I never say anything but I totally love it when someone shares the experience with you and gives you all the reactions that you'd get if you were there in person.

Yes, exactly~ I'm sharing it with you not because I have this deep burning desire to expose you to excellent anime, but because I want you to tell me what you think, and to laugh with you and to mourn with you and to have fun with you. Even when people are in other states, that's the best way to share something. :D Thanks for commenting.

I think it's a wonderful thing to just share things that you love. I tell stories over and over because if I haven't told something fabulous or wonderful or just plain neat to people, I feel the compulsive need to. And sometimes it's just fun to talk about... well... anything. From Gackt to The Apprentice.

Heh, that happens to me too. XD I'm like, "Have I told you this story I told eight other people today?! Well it's AWESOME, you see..."

*hug*

Um. I don't talk to you anymore or anything, but when I read this, I SO COMPLETELY understood what you meant (or I think I did, anyway), and I felt compelled to let you know: ME TOO! I love sharing anime, fanfiction, music, manga, books, poetry.

And when they're done, I soak up what will hopefully be more than "blah," cling on for some verbal/typed/whatevered reaction. Even disliking something... lacks a certain contentment when there's no one else to laugh at it with you. ^^;;

I think it's a little impossible to enjoy things by yourself.

I disagree, doing ANYTHING socially is just setting oneself up for complete and utter disappointment. Sometimes we just must press on and do things on our own. So...so...so sad... ;_;

Do not be saaaad! You know we love you, and that you love hearing us screech through our Lost episodes.

What happened last night, btw? It took forever for you guys to get to watching. ^^

oh, dude, I do it too. I love giving my impressions on whatever I'm watching over AIM or IRC and talking to someone as I'm watching (this is why it takes me like an hour to watch, say, an episode of Peach Girl), and I like it when someone does the same with me! Actually, when I was in high school, I used to call my friend Nate and we would watch TV on the phone together so that we could talk about the show and the commercials and shit. XD I always really like to know what people I like think of something I asked them to read/watch; they don't necessarily have to give up-to-the-minute impressions, but I always want a detailed recap of what they thought!

You and I should, like, share some fandoms! XD D'oh

We totally should! Alas, doomed to solitary dorkdom. But that's exactly the case, I love telling people what I'm thinking and feeling about it: if somebody sends me anime I'll probably hope for them to be online while I'm watching so I can interrupt my viewing experience to tell them "OMG, that was a four-foot-tall rat with an umbrella! And it talks! And... aww, he's so cute, I hope Youko's nice to him~" and then they can laugh at me malevolently and urge me on. It's just more FUN that way. :D

dude, you're watching 12 Kingdoms now? XD Feel free to message me at any time about it! XD XD Man, I totally went on IRC and was randomly like, "OMFG! YOU GUYS JUST TOTALLY GOT OWNED BY A UNICORN! UNICORN VERBAL BITCHSLAP OMFG OMFG!!!" and nobody had any idea what I was talking about, but I just HAD to say something... XD

Rakushun's my favorite because he's such a nerd, even though at times I was annoyed by what a transparent catalyst/plot device his character is... XD How far are you in the series?

[identity profile] yami-chan.livejournal.com 2005-04-08 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm exactly the same way. I love seeing/reading/hearing the reaction people have to stuff I share/give them. It just feels really really good. I sit there trying not to grin like an idiot (unless it's on the computer 'cause they can't see me then).

I totally agree, it's so much fun to watch/read/hear people's reactions than just to hear them hand you back the CDs and go "That was cool!" I want to share the experience with yoooou. XD Thanks for commenting~
